Be Merry Holiday Blend

About this coffee

For our inaugural Holiday Blend, we've blended three coffees from Ethiopia, Indonesia, and Kenya.

The Ethiopian component serves as the base, making up 50% of the blend and comes from our good friend Michael Omran from Gera Limu. The Anderacha lot is uniquely processed as they utilized cherry rest prior to processing and this year's lot is bringing out a ton of sweetness, complexity, a body with depth and incredible balance.

Next, we have Java Halu, the work of the amazing producer Ibu Rani Mayasari. These beans undergo a natural anaerobic process, a method that enhances their flavour profile and imparts a distinct character. Ibu Rani continues to grow as a coffee producer and processor. When she's not busy traveling to attend coffee conferences and workshops, she is overseeing the delivery and adoption of new equipment to further the quality of her coffee. This coffee adds a ton of complexity to this blend.

The last component comes from a new and exciting relationship with Bonaventure Project, who have sourced this coffee from Kenya in the Gatugi, Nyeri region. Coffee from Thuti always delivers the dynamic and classic flavors we come to look for in Kenyan Coffees from the Nyeri region but also its own distinctive terroir and character drawn from its leadership and management. Thuti delivers all that coffee lovers are looking for in a Kenyan coffee from its bright lemon-lime soda character to crunchy sweet currant flavors. This coffee is a stunner and adds a beautiful sparkly acidity and cleanliness to this blend.

Roasted a bit on the lighter side, expect the acidity to carry this coffee forward with every sip. As this coffee cools, you can be sure to taste and experience more of the citrus acidity come out and reveal itself as it takes over the more mellow chestnut and sugar plum sweetness experienced earlier on. We hope with this coffee, your days will be Merry and Bright.
