About this coffee

Sourced from the lush landscapes of West Java, Indonesia, the Java Halu Natural Anaerobic is a testament to the rich coffee heritage of the region. Cultivated by the dedicated producer Ibu Rani Mayasari at Java Halu, these beans are the single origin of a unique blend of varieties Singararutang Ateng and S795. Grown at an elevation of 1400 to 1600 meters, the beans benefit from the perfect balance of climate and soil, contributing to their exceptional quality.

These beans undergo a natural anaerobic process, a method that enhances their flavour profile and imparts a distinct character. Ibu Rani continues to grow as a coffee producer and processor. When she's not busy traveling to attend coffee conferences and workshops, she is overseeing the delivery and adoption of new equipment to further the quality of her coffee.

Ibu is dedicated to the craft and to those around her, employing many women in her community. She is a prime example of the many opportunities that coffee can afford for people. This is the first time we've purchased this coffee from Ibu through our friends at FiveTwo Coffee and Cahaya. We're looking forward to working with them moving forward by bringing in exceptional coffees from Indonesia.
